Mehidy Hasan to Miss Netherlands T20I Series to Be with Unwell Wife

Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will miss the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Netherlands to remain by the side of his ailing wife, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Tuesday.

A BCB official stated, "Mehidy took leave from August 20 to September 4 to be with his wife as she is not keeping well. As a result, he is not flying to Sylhet for the skill camp ahead of the series against Netherlands."

The 28-year-old was actively involved in Bangladesh’s fitness camp in Dhaka as part of preparations for the Netherlands series and the Asia Cup, which is scheduled to begin in the UAE on September 9. Mehidy last played for Bangladesh during the home T20I series against Pakistan.

The Bangladesh squad moved to Sylhet on Tuesday evening to begin their skill-based preparation camp. The Netherlands team is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on August 26 and will have three training days before the start of the series.

All three T20I matches will take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The series opener is scheduled for August 30, followed by the second and third matches on September 1 and 3, respectively.
