Vikramjit Singh Returns as Netherlands Name Squad for Bangladesh T20Is

Left-handed opener Vikramjit Singh has been recalled to the Netherlands squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, set to be played later this month in Sylhet. Singh, who was left out of the recent T20 World Cup qualifiers, last featured for the Dutch side in the tri-series in Glasgow this June.

Joining Vikramjit in the returning group are legspinner Shariz Ahmed and left-arm pacer Ben Fletcher, both of whom also last played in the Glasgow series. Shariz, in particular, is making a comeback after nearly a year, having last represented the Netherlands in Muscat.

The squad announcement comes with a few notable omissions. Bas de Leede and Roelof van der Merwe, two of the Netherlands' most experienced allrounders and key performers with the ball in the qualifiers, are unavailable for the Bangladesh tour. Michael Levitt, Zach Lion-Cachet, and Hidde Overdijk have also missed the cut.

Despite the changes, the Netherlands retain much of the core that featured in the recent qualifiers. Captain Scott Edwards continues to lead the side and remains a vital cog in the batting lineup alongside Max O'Dowd, who was the team’s top run-scorer in the qualifiers.

On the bowling front, Kyle Klein, who impressed with seven wickets in the qualifiers, is joined by Paul van Meekeren, Aryan Dutt, and Ryan Klein. With conditions in Sylhet likely to assist spin, eyes will also be on Shariz Ahmed’s potential impact.

The three T20Is are scheduled for August 30, September 1, and September 3, providing both teams valuable preparation ahead of a packed international calendar.
