Mandeep Singh Leaves Tripura After One Season, Future Team Yet to Be Confirmed
Experienced batter Mandeep Singh has announced his departure from Tripura ahead of the 2025–26 Indian domestic season, just a year after joining the team from Punjab. His next destination remains unconfirmed.
Mandeep took to Instagram to bid farewell to Tripura Cricket Association, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. “Thank you Tripura CA for giving me the opportunity to play last season, I enjoyed my time there,” he wrote. “Made some wonderful memories on and off the field. Wishing the team success for the upcoming season. Looking forward to the next chapter.”
The 33-year-old cricketer captained Tripura across formats during the 2024–25 season, appearing in six Ranji Trophy matches, six Vijay Hazare Trophy games, and seven Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy fixtures. While Tripura failed to progress beyond the group stage in all three competitions, Mandeep impressed with the bat.
He was a consistent performer in the Ranji Trophy, registering a century (124*) and scoring five half-centuries—reaching the fifty-run mark in every match he played. His white-ball form was equally solid, with three fifties in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, including a 94-run knock against Bengal, and two half-centuries in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Mandeep’s move to Tripura in 2024 marked the end of a 15-year stint with Punjab, the state he represented since his debut. He capped off his time there by leading Punjab to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title, their first in three decades.
While his next move is yet to be officially announced, Mandeep's consistent performances and leadership credentials make him a valuable prospect for teams seeking experienced top-order batting and guidance for younger squads.
