Davina Perrin Smashes Record Century as Superchargers Storm into The Hundred Final

Davina Perrin lit up The Oval with a dazzling unbeaten century to power Northern Superchargers into the final of The Women’s Hundred with a dominant 42-run win over London Spirit on Saturday.

Perrin’s breathtaking 101 not out off just 43 balls – only the second century ever scored in the Women’s Hundred – was the centrepiece of a record-breaking batting display as Superchargers posted an imposing 214 for 5, the highest team total in the competition’s history.

The 17-year-old sensation smashed 15 fours and five sixes in a brutal innings that left Spirit’s bowlers shell-shocked. Her explosive start, which included taking apart Kate Coppack and Eva Gray, helped Superchargers race to 105 in just 49 balls for the opening wicket with Hollie Armitage (15 off 18) playing a supporting role.

After Armitage's dismissal, Phoebe Litchfield (35 off 21) joined the onslaught, as the pair continued the carnage. Eva Gray bore the brunt, leaking 42 runs in her three five-ball sets. Although both Litchfield and Perrin departed before the end, a late flourish from Nicola Carey ensured Superchargers crossed the 200-run mark comfortably.

In reply, Spirit’s chase never truly got off the ground, slumping to 12 for 3 in the first 12 balls. Despite a fighting 63-run partnership between Charli Knott (40 off 16) and Cordelia Griffith, and a composed unbeaten 50 off 30 balls from Georgia Redmayne, the target proved far out of reach.

Grace Ballinger (3 for 22) and Annabel Sutherland (3 for 40) led the bowling effort, ensuring Superchargers maintained control throughout and sealed their place in the final with an emphatic win.

With this victory, Northern Superchargers not only secured a spot in the final but also sent a strong message to their opponents – led by a teenage star whose name is now etched in Hundred history.
