Tim Seifert's Record-Breaking Century Powers St Lucia Kings to Stunning Chase in CPL 2025

Tim Seifert lit up the Daren Sammy Stadium with a blistering century as the St Lucia Kings chased down 205 with ease, defeating the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons by six wickets in one of the most dominant performances of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 season.

Seifert's unbeaten 125 off just 53 balls was not only the joint-fastest century in CPL history — equalling Andre Russell — but also the second-highest individual score ever in the tournament. His innings powered the Kings to 206 for 4 in only 17.5 overs, marking the fifth-highest successful chase in CPL history.

Seifert Stars in Record Chase

Opening the batting, Seifert set the tone from the outset by flat-batting the very first legal delivery of the innings for six. Along with Johnson Charles, he took 21 off the opening over bowled by Imad Wasim. Despite Charles falling early, Seifert remained relentless.

In the company of Akeem Auguste and later Roston Chase, Seifert continued the onslaught. Kings smashed 92 runs in the powerplay, the highest of the 2025 season and third-best ever in CPL. Auguste contributed a brisk cameo, hitting Irshad for three consecutive boundaries before falling to Usama Mir.

Even after losing partners, Seifert carried on, reaching his century with a single after launching consecutive sixes off Mir. He eventually sealed the match with a towering six, finishing with 125 (53), including 7 fours and 10 sixes*, taking the Kings to the top of the table.

Falcons' Effort Led by Shakib

Earlier, after being put in to bat, the Falcons rode on a fiery innings from Shakib Al Hasan, who smashed 61 off 26 balls. He launched into the Kings’ attack with three fours and two sixes off David Wiese in a single over and brought up a 20-ball half-century.

Amir Jangoo provided solid support with a measured 56 off 43, while Fabian Allen’s quick-fire 38 off 17 helped the Falcons post an imposing 204 for 4.

Spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was the standout bowler for the Kings, taking 3 for 30, including a double strike in his first over that briefly dented Falcons’ momentum.
