ODI Rankings: Sikandar Raza Becomes World No. 1 Allrounder, Maharaj Tops Bowling Charts
Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza has reached a career milestone by becoming the No. 1 allrounder in the latest ICC ODI rankings. This is the first time the seasoned Zimbabwean has claimed the top spot, following a standout performance in the recent two-match series against Sri Lanka in Harare.
Raza scored a total of 151 runs across the series — 92 in the first match and an unbeaten 59 in the second — and also chipped in with a wicket, helping propel him past Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi, who now occupy second and third positions respectively in the allrounders' rankings.
Meanwhile, in the bowling rankings, South African spinner Keshav Maharaj has taken sole possession of the No. 1 spot, surpassing Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana. Maharaj’s rise comes on the back of a brilliant performance in Leeds, where he claimed 4 for 22 in a dominant win over England in the first ODI of their ongoing series.
Batting Rankings See Nissanka Surge
Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka, who was named Player of the Series against Zimbabwe after amassing 198 runs, has climbed seven places to reach 13th in the ODI batting rankings. Teammate Janith Liyanage also made significant gains, moving up 13 places to 29th. Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams rose three spots to 47th.
T20I Rankings: Afghan Players on the Rise
In T20Is, Afghanistan's players have also seen a sharp rise following consecutive wins against UAE and Pakistan in the ongoing tri-series. Ibrahim Zadran jumped 12 places to 20th among batters, while Sediqullah Atal made a sensational leap of 346 spots to reach 127th.
Pakistan’s Hasan Nawaz moved into joint-31st among T20I batters, while bowlers Sufiyan Muqeem (22nd), Shaheen Shah Afridi (26th), and Mohammad Nawaz (43rd) also saw notable improvements.
