Bangladesh to Host West Indies for Six-Match White-Ball Series in October

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially confirmed that West Indies will tour the country in mid-October for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is. This will mark the start of Bangladesh’s home season and will serve as vital preparation for both teams ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled in India and Sri Lanka in February.

Venue Details Announced

According to the schedule released on Tuesday, the ODI series will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, while the T20I matches will be hosted at the Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium in Chattogram — formerly known as the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Series Schedule

  • 1st ODI – October 18, Dhaka

  • 2nd ODI – October 20, Dhaka

  • 3rd ODI – October 23, Dhaka

  • 1st T20I – October 27, Chattogram

  • 2nd T20I – October 30, Chattogram

  • 3rd T20I – November 1, Chattogram

Final Tune-Up Before T20 World Cup

The upcoming series is expected to play a crucial role in shaping both teams' preparations and finalizing combinations ahead of the T20 World Cup. With limited white-ball fixtures remaining before the global tournament, the matches will provide an ideal platform for fringe players to stake their claim and for established names to find rhythm.

West Indies, two-time T20 World Cup champions, will be keen to build momentum, while Bangladesh will be looking to fine-tune their squad under home conditions where they’ve traditionally been strong.

With the countdown to the 2026 T20 World Cup already underway, all eyes will be on this bilateral series as both teams look to gear up for one of cricket’s biggest global stages.
