West Indies Name Five Uncapped Players in Akeal Hosein-Led T20I Squad for Nepal Series

West Indies have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Nepal in Sharjah, with left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein set to captain the side for the first time. The squad includes five uncapped players, highlighting a strong focus on youth and development, as several senior players, including regular captain Shai Hope, have been rested.

Five New Faces for West Indies

The uncapped players named are top-order batter Ackeem Auguste, batting allrounder Navin Bidaisee, legspinner Zishan Motara, left-arm fast bowler Ramon Simmonds, and wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo. The squad also features Karima Gore, a USA international who has played eight T20Is but is yet to represent West Indies. Gore's inclusion comes on the back of an impressive CPL 2025 campaign with the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, where he scored 219 runs in 11 matches.

Akeal Hosein to Lead

Hosein, the most experienced T20I player in the squad, takes on the captaincy role for the first time across any format. The squad also includes senior allrounders Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers, and Fabian Allen, offering a balance of experience alongside the younger talent.

This tour provides an opportunity for West Indies to test their bench strength and identify emerging talent ahead of future global events.
