Nepal Recall Aadil Alam and Sundeep Jora for Historic T20I Series Against West Indies
Nepal have named a 16-member squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against West Indies, recalling allrounder Mohammad Aadil Alam and middle-order batter Sundeep Jora for what will be a historic first bilateral series against a Full Member nation.
The series, scheduled to take place in Sharjah, UAE, begins on September 27. Nepal captain Rohit Paudel will lead the side, with Dipendra Singh Airee serving as vice-captain.
Key Inclusions and Returns
-
Aadil Alam, who last played for Nepal in August 2022, returns to strengthen the all-round department.
-
Sundeep Jora, whose most recent appearance came during the 2024 T20 World Cup in June, also makes a comeback.
-
Left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi, who missed the Top End T20 series in Australia last month, has also been recalled.
Nepal will rely heavily on legspinner Sandeep Lamichhane, who remains the centerpiece of the bowling attack, while the experience of Sompal Kami, Karan KC, and Gulsan Jha adds balance to the pace unit.
Paudel Confident Ahead of Landmark Series
Speaking on the significance of the series, Paudel said the team is excited and well-prepared for the challenge.
"We are confident and positive," he said. "The last two years of exposure playing against Test nations has brought valuable experience. The team is balanced with the presence of Jora and Aadil Alam."
Nepal have been building steadily on the international stage, and this series represents a major milestone for the team as they prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup Qualifiers later this year.
West Indies to Field Uncapped Talent
The West Indies, led by Akeal Hosein, are also expected to test their bench strength during the series. Their squad includes five uncapped players, offering Nepal both a challenge and an opportunity to compete against fresh international talent.
The two sides last met in April 2024 during a five-match T20 series in Nepal, where West Indies A edged out the hosts 3-2. That competitive series laid the groundwork for this full international engagement.
