Litton Das Ruled Out of Afghanistan T20Is with Abdominal Injury

Bangladesh captain Litton Das has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against Afghanistan after sustaining a grade 1 strain in his left abdominal muscle during the Asia Cup. Jaker Ali, who led the side in Litton’s absence during the latter stages of the Asia Cup, will continue as captain for the Afghanistan series.

“Litton had missed the last two matches of the Asia Cup with a side strain. An MRI scan has revealed a grade 1 strain on the left abdominal muscle. He is currently undergoing recovery and will not be available for the T20 series. The medical team will continue to manage his rehab and monitor his progress,” said team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan.

Soumya Sarkar Returns to Squad

The only change to the squad that featured in the Asia Cup is the return of experienced batter Soumya Sarkar. The 32-year-old has been drafted in to bolster the batting line-up in Litton’s absence.
