Temba Bavuma Returns for South Africa A Tour to India
South Africa Test captain Temba Bavuma has been named in the South Africa A squad for their upcoming tour of India, marking his return from a calf injury. He missed the ongoing Test series in Pakistan and was not included in the ODI squad, in order to recover in time for the India tour. Bavuma will be available for the second of two four-day matches in Bengaluru, scheduled between October 30 and November 9.
South Africa’s full tour of India runs from November 14 to December 19, featuring 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 5 T20Is, part of the 2025-27 WTC cycle.
The A squad will be led by Marques Ackerman, and includes:
-
Zubayr Hamza and Prenelan Subrayen (currently with the senior Test team in Pakistan)
-
Codi Yusuf (white-ball pacer)
-
Kwena Maphaka, a teenage left-arm seamer, returning from a hamstring injury for the three-match fifty-over series in Rajkot (Nov 13–19)
The two four-day games will be held at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru.
