Noman Ali Rises to No. 2 in ICC Test Rankings After Lahore Heroics
Pakistan's left-arm spinner Noman Ali has achieved a major career milestone by climbing to No. 2 in the ICC Men's Test Bowling Rankings following his match-winning performance against South Africa in Lahore. Noman claimed a ten-wicket haul in the first Test, including a six-wicket burst in the first innings, helping Pakistan secure a 93-run victory. His efforts earned him a career-best 853 rating points.
South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, previously ranked second, dropped to fifth after managing just two wickets in the same match. Allrounder Marco Jansen also slipped out of the top ten after being excluded from the playing XI.
Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi also made gains, moving up three spots to 19th in the Test bowling rankings, thanks to his 4 for 33 in the second innings.
On the batting front, South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton broke into the top 50 for the first time after scoring 71 in the first innings.
In white-ball cricket, Australian pacers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc climbed the ICC ODI bowling charts following their win over India in Perth. Hazlewood rose six places to 10th, while Starc moved up four spots to 21st.
Meanwhile, England’s Adil Rashid climbed to third in the ICC T20I bowling rankings after an impressive 4 for 32 against New Zealand in Christchurch.
