Yashasvi Jaiswal to Play Third Round of Ranji Trophy for Mumbai

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to feature in the third round of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy when Mumbai face Rajasthan in Jaipur from November 1. The left-hander, who recently returned from Australia after being part of India’s ODI squad, has made himself available for selection as he looks to stay match-ready ahead of the upcoming home Test series against South Africa, beginning November 14 in Kolkata.

Jaiswal’s decision aligns with the BCCI’s directive requiring all centrally contracted players to participate in domestic tournaments whenever they are available.

According to sources, Jaiswal has communicated his availability to Sanjay Patil, chairman of selectors for Mumbai. The selection panel is expected to announce the squad for the Rajasthan game once the ongoing round concludes on Tuesday.

If selected, this will mark Jaiswal’s first Ranji appearance for Mumbai since reaffirming his commitment to the team in May, following a brief period when he sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to represent Goa.

The 23-year-old last turned out for Mumbai in a group-stage fixture against Jammu & Kashmir at the BKC grounds, a game that also saw Rohit Sharma make a high-profile return to domestic cricket after a tough tour of Australia. Jaiswal’s most recent domestic outing came in August 2025, when he represented West Zone in the Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru.

Mumbai began their Ranji season with a victory over Jammu & Kashmir but were denied another outright win against Chhattisgarh due to persistent rain interruptions.

With Jaiswal’s return, Mumbai will be hoping for a strong performance in Jaipur as they look to consolidate their position in Elite Group D.
