USA’s Akhilesh Reddy Suspended After ICC Files Anti-Corruption Charges
USA cricketer Akhilesh Reddy has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect after the International Cricket Council (ICC) charged him with three breaches of its Anti-Corruption Code. The allegations relate to the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, where the 25-year-old has been representing the Aspin Stallions and has appeared in two matches.
According to the ICC, Reddy has been charged under the following sections of the code:
-
Article 2.1.1 – Attempting to fix, contrive, or improperly influence — or being involved in an effort to improperly influence — the result, progress, or conduct of matches in the ADT10 2025.
-
Article 2.1.4 – Soliciting, inducing, persuading, or intentionally facilitating another participant to breach Article 2.1.1 during matches in the tournament.
-
Article 2.4.7 – Obstructing the investigation by deleting data and messages from a mobile device that could be relevant to the inquiry.
Reddy, who made his international debut earlier this year and has played four T20Is for the USA in the North America T20 Cup, has been given 14 days to respond to the charges.
Further action will depend on the outcome of the investigation and Reddy’s formal response.
