Kohli Set for Domestic Return with Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Virat Kohli is set to return to domestic cricket for Delhi in the upcoming 2025–26 Vijay Hazare Trophy, the DDCA has confirmed. The 37-year-old, who now represents India exclusively in 50-over cricket, will feature in the one-day competition beginning December 24 in Ahmedabad.

Kohli's participation follows the BCCI’s directive requiring centrally contracted players to play domestic cricket when available. With India scheduled for ODI series against South Africa and New Zealand on either side of the tournament, Kohli is expected to appear in select matches.

“He will definitely play a few games, but not sure about the entire tournament,” DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma told ESPNcricinfo. “It will depend upon his India matches too.”

Kohli last played for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2008, shortly before his rise to the senior national side. His return is expected to draw significant attention as Delhi prepare for a competitive campaign in the premier 50-over domestic event.
