Bavuma, Ngidi and Maharaj Return as South Africa Opt to Bowl; India Unchanged in Raipur

India’s luck at the toss continued to falter as they lost their 20th consecutive ODI toss and were asked to bat first by South Africa in the second ODI in Raipur on Wednesday. Trailing 0–1 in the three-match series after defeat in Ranchi, South Africa must win to keep the contest alive.

Temba Bavuma returned to lead the visitors after being rested for the series opener. South Africa made three changes, bringing back Bavuma, left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj and fast bowler Lungi Ngidi. Ryan Rickelton, Prenelan Subrayen and Ottneil Baartman made way.

India, meanwhile, stuck with an unchanged XI, meaning there was still no place for Rishabh Pant or Tilak Varma as they continued with the combination that took the field in Ranchi.

India XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Washington Sundar, KL Rahul (capt & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna.

South Africa XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma (capt), Matthew Breetzke, Tony de Zorzi, Dewald Brevis, Marco Jansen, Corbin Bosch, Keshav Maharaj, Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi.
