IPL 2026 Mini-Auction: 350 Players Shortlisted, 40 Listed at Highest Base Price
The stage is set for the IPL 2026 mini-auction, scheduled to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi, with a total of 350 players shortlisted to go under the hammer. Among them, 40 players have listed themselves at the maximum base price of INR 2 crore, with Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi being the only Indians in this elite bracket.
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, widely expected to attract the highest bids, has registered as a batter and will feature in the very first set. Meanwhile, Quinton de Kock, Dunith Wellalage, and George Linde—absent from the initial longlist—have now been added to the final auction roster. In total, 35 new names were included after franchise requests.
Of the 350 shortlisted players, 240 are Indians, while 110 are overseas cricketers.
The auction will begin with a full round of capped players categorized by specialization—batters, all-rounders, wicketkeeper-batters, fast bowlers, and spinners—followed by uncapped players. The accelerated auction phase will begin after player No. 70.
Teams will compete to fill 77 available slots, including 31 for overseas players. Kolkata Knight Riders enter the auction with the largest purse of INR 64.30 crore and have 13 slots to fill, six of which are overseas positions.
The 2026 mini-auction promises high-intensity bidding and significant squad reshaping as franchises gear up for the next IPL season.
