Aman Khan concedes record 123 runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy match

Puducherry captain and allrounder Aman Khan endured a difficult outing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, entering the record books for an unwanted reason after conceding 123 runs from his ten overs against Jharkhand. The figures are now the most expensive ever recorded in a men’s List A match.

Jharkhand piled on 368 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs in Ahmedabad, powered by a century from Kumar Kushagra and a commanding 98 from Anukul Roy. Aman was one of only three Puducherry bowlers to complete his full quota of overs, but he finished with an economy rate of 12.3 as Jharkhand’s batters dominated proceedings.

In reply, Puducherry were unable to mount a serious challenge and were bowled out for 235 in 41.4 overs, handing Jharkhand a comprehensive victory.

The previous record for the most runs conceded in a men’s List A game was held by Arunachal Pradesh fast bowler Mibom Mosu, who had given away 116 runs in nine overs against Bihar earlier this month, also during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. That match had drawn widespread attention after Bihar’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest centurion in men’s List A cricket at just 14 years of age.

Despite the record-breaking spell, Aman’s career trajectory continues upward. He made his List A debut for Mumbai in 2021 before moving to Puducherry and has featured regularly in domestic cricket. Most recently, he was signed by Chennai Super Kings for INR 40 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction. Aman previously represented Delhi Capitals in the 2023 season, having made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022.
